FREEDOM:

Dusty old helmet, rusty old gun,
They sit in the corner and wait -
Two souvenirs of the Second World War
That have withstood the time, and the hate.

Mute witness to a time of much trouble.
Where kill or be killed was the law -
Were these implements used with high honor?
What was the glory they saw?

Many times I’ve wanted to ask them -
And now that we’re here all alone,
Relics all three of a long ago war -
Where has freedom gone?

Freedom flies in your heart like an eagle.
Let it soar with the winds high above
Among the spirits of soldiers now sleeping,
Guard it with care and with love.

I salute my old friends in the corner,
I agree with all they have said -
And if the moment of truth comes tomorrow,
I’ll be free, or By God, I’ll be dead!

recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor

I really like my compact XD 45’s. I have two, owned 3 so far, will have more. and they both shoot to point of aim for me and are reliable and easy to pack. I like the trigger and the compact grip frame with the option of the high capacity full size magazines. I had the opportunity, recently, to handle and shoot about 15 models and calibers of XD/XDm. I prefer the 45 compact for it’s caliber and versatility.
I still have my 1911’s and several Glocks the 1911’s are hard to beat, flat and easy to conceal accurate and reliable. The Glocks are work horses just tools with absolutely no sentimental value. Probably the same for the XD’s BUT, they are SO pleasant to shoot, much better trigger and they point better for me than any of Gaston’s guns. I have shot several SIGs, the DA action just turns me off. I prefer my Tangfaglio copy of a CZ -75 with it’s cocked & locked carry.

The Caning of Bernie Sanders

December 18th, 2009
U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following remarks on the Senate floor Wednesday regarding the Majority’s decision earlier today to change the precedents of the Senate:“The plain language of the Senate precedent, the manual that governs Senate procedure, is that unanimous consent of all members was required before the Senator from Vermont could withdraw his amendment while it was being read.
“Earlier today, the majority somehow convinced the parliamentarian to break with the long standing precedent and practice of the Senate in the reading of the bill.
“Senate procedure states clearly, and I quote: under Rule 15, paragraph 1, and Senate precedents, an amendment shall be read by the clerk before it is up for consideration or before the same shall be debated unless a request to waive the reading is granted.“It goes on to state that, quote, ‘the reading of which may not be dispensed with, except by unanimous consent, and if the request is denied, the amendment must be read and further interruptions are not in order.’
“You may have heard that the majority cites an example in 1992 where the chair made a mistake and allowed something similar to happen. But one mistake does not a precedent make.
“For example, there is precedent for a Senator being beaten with a cane here in the Senate. If mistakes were the rule, the caning of Senators would be in order. Fortunately for all of us, it is not.
“It’s now clear the majority is willing to do anything to jam through a 2000-page bill before the American people or any of us has had a chance to read it—including changing the rules in the middle of the game.”Hotair.com via sondrak

The Old Senate Chamber

The Caning of Senator Charles Sumner

One of the most violent episodes in congressional history took place in this chamber on May 22, 1856. The Senate was not in session when South Carolina Representative Preston S. Brooks entered the chamber to avenge the insults that Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner had levelled at Brooks’ cousin, Senator Andrew P. Butler. Sumner’s “Crime Against Kansas” speech of May 19-20 was sharply critical, on a personal level, of Butler and several other senators who had supported the “popular sovereignty” provisions of the 1854 Kansas-Nebraska Act. Sumner was addressing copies of the speech at his desk when Brooks began his attack, striking the northern senator repeatedly with a walking cane, which splintered with the force of the blows.Although two House members intervened to end the assault, Sumner, who had ripped his desk loose from the bolts holding it to the floor in his effort to escape, was rendered unconscious. He regained consciousness shortly after the attack, but it would be three years before he felt able to resume his senatorial duties.

The caning of Senator Sumner signalled the end of an era of compromise and sectional accommodation in the Senate, further heightening the discord that culminated in war after eleven southern states seceded from the Union during the winter of 1860-1861. History

Aserting Your Rights-The Right Way

October 2nd, 2009

Charles is a retired Attorney & a retired Pastor. He currently teaches at a small college in Brownsville.

Playing with “La Migra”

My nephew-in-law (if there is such a thing) wants to get in our Saturday morning falling plate pistol match, so I took him out for a practice round yesterday and to teach him the drill. He did very, very well. He is a real natural with a handgun.

Anyway, to come back from our range, which s hard against the Rio Grander river just eight miles up from where it flows into the Gulf of Mexico, we have to go through a Border Patrol checkpoint.

The little Yankee Migra from New York asked if we were US Citizens and we said yes. He then asked me if we had any guns in the vehicle. I said, hell yes I have guns in the vehicle, this is still Texas isn’t it. Nobody in his right mind would be down in this part of the world without a gun.

He grined and asked me if he could look in the back of the Ford Explorer. I said, sure, but after we establish the rules. At this point nephew started to panic. He eyes started to roll and he started to breath heavy. He looked like one of those Garfield cats with suction cup feet, folks used to stick on their car windows.

What rules said the Migra? Rule number 1 says I is that you are requesting a consent serch because you have no probably cause and no warrant correct? He said… Yes Sir.
Rule number 2 is that when I give consent, I can revoke it at any time and you must stop the search at that point. He said..Yes Sir.

OK with the rules established I will open it for you which I did. He just looked around and asked what is in my black range bag and I told him two 22 pistols.

He smiled, we shook hands and we went on our way. The nephew was about to have a stroke. He said, he knew we were going to end up in Jail. I told him no way, as I was withing my rights the these guys are highly trained professionals and know the rules.

I further said, I suppoort the Border Patrol and all they do to interdict drugs and wetbacks. But, says I, too many fine women and men have shed their blook since 1776 to obtain and maintain out rights as free Americans including the right from unreasonable serch as siezure per the 4th Amendment. Therefore, by G– all law enforcement folks are going to play by the rules. Those rules are too precious to take lightly.

Beside I am those guys worse nightmare. A retired old Fud with a law degree and time on my hands. They can make my life difficult for a few hours, I can make their lives a living hell for the next five years. He replied..”And you would do that!”. Yep..you can take that one to the bank. Never be intimidated by a badge and a gun. As long as you are firm and polite you are on firm ground.

Reader’s Digest Bankrupt, I am not surprised

September 26th, 2009

What once was a thick magazine full of inspiring & interesting articles and even an abridged book in every issue has become a thin shadow of itself. Half full of medical ads and PC articles, espousing center left or outright socialist views. RD, like our nations one robust newspapers and magazines is on the path to irrelevance. Even the famous titles of the standby columns have been changed: No more Humor In Uniform, All in A day’s Work, or Laughter The Best Medicine. The editor’s have changed the names to Off Base,Laugh & @work.
I have watched our nation’s papers & magazines slide to the LEFT, now I watch them slide over the brink, into oblivion.

“We’re not interested in government fixes, we’re interested in freedom.”

September 23rd, 2009

Sarah’Cuda tells it like it is

‘Cuda attack in Hong Kong

“Lack of government wasn’t the problem. Government policies were the problem. The marketplace didn’t fail. It became exactly as common sense would expect it to. The government ordered the loosening of lending standards. The Federal Reserve kept interest rates low. The government forced lending institutions to give loans to people who, as I say, couldn’t afford them. Speculators spotted new investment vehicles, jumped on board and rating agencies underestimated risks…

How can we discuss reform without addressing the government policies at the root of the problems? The root of the collapse? And how can we think that setting up the Fed as the monitor of systemic risk in the financial sector will result in meaningful reform? The words “fox” and “hen house” come to mind. The Fed’s decisions helped create the bubble. Look at the root cause of most asset bubbles, and you’ll see the Fed somewhere in the background.”

Constitution

September 18th, 2009

Today marks the 222nd anniversary of the formation and signing of our Constitution. The United States Constitution is one of the greatest founding documents in history because it charted a bold new path in the realm of political theory. Not only does the Constitution establish checks and balances within the federal government, it also divides power among the federal government, the states, and the people. The Founders understood that it is the nature of government to grow at the expense of the people’s liberty; and with that in mind, they established a form of government that would be limited in scope and power in order to maximize power to the people.

Today, let’s also take the opportunity to thank our armed forces. The weight of defending our liberty rests on their shoulders, and because of their efforts and sacrifice, we can celebrate the 222nd anniversary of the formation of our Constitution. - Sarah Palin

Official: Satan-Loving Teen Lights Church Fire

September 17th, 2009

A 15-year-old girl who allegedly worships Satan was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of lighting a fire at her Orangevale church.

The blaze occurred at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint.Metropolitan Fire District said the teen made it clear why she started the blaze, which damaged church pews.”She hates the church and she worships the devil,” Pebbles said. “That’s the reason why.”

There were nearly 50 other church members inside when the blaze took place.”The flames were about 4 feet high inside the chapel,” church facilities director Pat Elmer said.

So, burn her at the Stake?

It’s been less than a year since a freak tried to burn the church building I attend with several very good friends inside….

The Science Behind the ACORN Sting

by Hannah Giles After going undercover on the east coast, James and I headed to the west coast. We knew it was a risky endeavor but the results on the east coast were too good to ignore. We had to test our scenario in an opposite region.  It is like a science experiment:

1)      Ask A Question: What if a “prostitute” and her alleged law school boyfriend walk into ACORN seeking housing for an underage brothel to fund his future congressional campaign?

2)      Do Background Research:

  1. Learn as much about ACORN housing procedures and protocol as possible.
  2. History of ACORN and their effect on the United States

3)      Construct a Hypothesis: ACORN is corrupt and it is in their nature to promote and disguise illegal behavior.

4)      Experiment: Baltimore, DC, Brooklyn, San Bernardino, and…

5)      Analyze and draw a conclusion.

America-

James O’Keefe and I posed a question and gathered the evidence. We’ve run around this nation on a quest for truth unraveling the mystery of organized corruption.

You Decide. (more…)

Hannah Giles, James O’Keefe and Andrew Breitbart are doing the work that the lamestream media won’t do. Acorn is willing to support child prostitution, child smuggling etc…

ACORN is corrupt and in League with Democrat politicians from coast to coast. Our current President was brought to office through the auspices of ACORN in 16 states. Watch the videos; names are named.
